Begin with the configured environment
An existing 3CX installation may already contain workgroups, forwarding rules and employee routines. An additional connection should be assessed in that context. Explain which requirement it addresses and which parts of the current setup must remain unchanged.
Identify the version, hosting model and people responsible for administration. This avoids assuming that a product name proves compatibility. The applicable connection model needs to be established for the actual environment.

Separate platform features from connection conditions
A feature available in a PBX interface may not behave identically with every external connection. Identification, transfer and media handling depend on agreed parameters. A list of required actions is therefore more informative than simply asking to connect 3CX.

Pilot the employee's normal workflow
Choose a real example: an employee calls the required destination, holds or transfers the conversation and ends it. If the team uses several devices, identify the ones actually involved. The assessment then covers practical suitability rather than just an initial connection.
Document conditions, time, action and observed behaviour consistently. That gives the administrator useful evidence. Unexpected behaviour is not a reason to change the whole system or unrelated settings without investigation.

Assign ownership and administration
Where a contractor maintains 3CX, agree their participation and the changes they may make. The business owner should know who approves the requirement, who configures the PBX and who checks the result from the users' perspective.
System access should not be shared through public messages. The first brief can be prepared without secrets. Sensitive parameters should only be exchanged through an agreed appropriate channel and in the necessary scope.

Assess scale after the initial example
A successful pilot does not settle every capacity question. Peak simultaneous conversations, destinations and participating groups affect the requirement. Total employee count is not a substitute for the actual workload.
State when existing routes must remain in place. The review can then consider a limited change and the return to the original arrangement. Whether that is practical depends on the configuration and is not guaranteed by a template statement.
